What I particularly enjoy about creating glass art is the unpredictability of it—you just don’t know what’s going to happen and it’s like Christmas every time you open the kiln. It’s all a learning experience. There are so many ways to do things with glass. There’s no limit to what you can do. You’re only limited by your imagination!

My favorite thing about my work is when it turns out exactly as I intended it to be! Of course some of the surprises can be very exciting too. I love it when a piece has turned out really well and it looks like something of museum or art gallery quality. The thought that I actually produced it is thrilling.

My goal is to keep learning as much as I can. The more I learn, the more I can put techniques together and maybe create a technique that no one else has done yet. Someday I may just create a piece that people will say, “How did she do that?” That would be wonderful.
